Executive Summary

Meet & Match is a young start-up producing a disruptive service in total adequacy with the current economic context. In fact, as entrepreneurship is gaining momentum, our goal is to bring together professionals who want to be converted so that they can build a common project. Our motto is: "one goes faster ; two go further ", it is in this logic that our ambition was born to connect entrepreneurs stimulated by a similar project.

In particular, Meet & Match wants to benefit people with well-advanced careers who want to get involved in a project that is particularly important to them: for example, parents who have no young children or who are dependent on themselves and looking for a real turn in their career. Indeed, the market of the professional around forty and more appeared to us to be the most interesting to exploit. Those people are less adeptable to use social networks which limits their professional network and the opportunities to find an associate motivated by the same intentions and projects.

Our work resulted in the realization of a web application. Based on a precise algorithm, this application allows on the one hand to connect people with a similar project idea but also complementary know-how in order to have a range of skills provided as much as possible.

Other tools are available to guarantee the success of the project.

Business Description

Our team is constituted in its entirety of students in business school. Our members are stimulated by the will to undertake. It appeared to us that with the network made available by our school as well as the one that we constituted during our studies that it was remarkably easy to set up various projects. We, therefore, wanted to make this opportunity accessible to all.
Here is the genesis of our project: the desire to make it easy to create a start-up for everyone. Naturally, it emerged that the focus should be on the 40-60 age group as it has not benefited from computer networking tools throughout its career.

This is a web application, with the same name, that Meet & Match has developed over the past two months.

The latter consists of a main service: connecting entrepreneurs with similar ambitions but also ancillary services including a co-working platform and tutorials to facilitate administrative procedures such as obtaining the status of entrepreneur or the registration of young users' shoots.

The application wants to be intuitive in order to facilitate its use by people of various ages, allows to obtain a result is a "match" between two entrepreneurs in just a few steps. Our team decided to reduce the editorial steps as much as possible.

The main service is subdivided into two sub-services with the same purpose: connecting men and women with common ambitions.

The first service is called "Let's Match".
"Let's Match" allows a user with a defined project to be connected to another user with a similar idea.
The coupling process performed by the algorithm is done in several steps ranging from the least accurate to the most precise and depends on several criteria related to the project and the skills of the user.
Directly about the project idea, it will be asked the sector in which it is located, the investment ready to realize the user, as well as the nature of the project (type of product or type of service).
It seems to us unavoidable regarding the success of the project to connect two people with personalities and complementary professional skills. Thus, the user will be asked to specify what skills he expects from his partner. About the personality, at the end of the coupling of the two users, the platform of co-work will be accessible only after a professional discussion or not between them; this is to avoid an unsuccessful association due to personalities that do not match. If this discussion results in a withdrawal of one of the users, the realization of the project will not take place.
As long as a work platform has not been created between two users (sign of a project implementation), an ad corresponding to the idea of the two users will appear on a global platform where users can navigate.
This ad is written by the user at the end of the pairing process.

The second service is called "Let's Meet".
This service is intended for users who do not have a clear idea of a project they wish to undertake.
They will therefore answer a much less precise questionnaire than that proposed by the previous service. At the end of this process, the algorithm will select 4 existing projects available on the global platform that can meet the expectations of this undecided user.
The latter can have access to all the projects of other users on the global platform and can optionally make his choice here.
To conclude, this application allows men and women weary of their professional situation to bounce back thanks to the entrepreneurship which is always more accessible when one is several.
The priority of our team is to get involved in the success of the turning point in the careers of people of old age, as such we have also completed the drafting of another project: CG (as carrier guidance) for a better change which you can consult by clicking on the following link:

Market strategies

Our Meet & Match service is for anyone wishing to undertake and find a partner to carry out this project. However, our team has been focusing on creating a tool that can be used by people who are not particularly adept at computing tools.

Why ?

We want to dedicate our project to a clearly identified market share: people between 40 and 60 years old or more who wish to carry out an entrepreneurial project that is important to them in order to bet on their redundant professional life.

Thus, although we do not generalize about the computer skills of the age group we are interested in, it seems to us necessary to ensure that the service is accessible to all, hence the emphasis on intuitive side of the application.

Indeed, accessibility is the guideline of our project. Our first desire and what drives us is the fact that any individual can benefit from a professional springboard.
Thus, it appeared to us that the people least likely to make such a career change are people in the 40 to 60 age group.
This is explained by the fact that they have not had the opportunity to create a network as provided as subsequent generations having benefited from specific internet tools like LinkedIn or social networks to keep in touch with their former colleagues or friends.

Our market tends to be restricted to people between 40 and 60 years naturally because the younger generations use other channels to associate and set up a project.

This is a small market share that our team has carefully studied to be the best to meet their needs and produce a quality service.

As such, we have created a MindMap which you can read below to know the psychological dimensions of our market share.

It emerged that this age group was not reluctant to professional change but was somewhat apprehensive about these changes.

Thus, we deduced that it was better to undertake two because it gives a sense of security.
In addition, we felt it was necessary to provide support tools to the business creation process.

Moreover, in France, the legislation allows employees to benefit from a leave or part-time to start a business.

"A leave or the exercise of a part-time job is intended for any employee who has sufficient seniority in the company: 24 months in the absence of collective provisions whose project is to create or take over a business
Duration: determined by collective agreements, failing: 1 year renewable once

Procedure: the employee must inform his employer, letter with acknowledgment of receipt or by hand.

The employer notifies the employee:
- Of his acceptance
- Refuse if the employee does not fulfill the conditions to benefit
- In companies with less than 300 employees, the refusal can be justified if the leave could have consequences detrimental to the smooth running of the company
The employer can postpone the employee's leave up to a maximum of 6 months or 9 months in companies with less than 300 employees. This postponement must be justified in the light of the number of employees absent from the company

At the end of the leave, the employee can decide:
- To reinstate the company: must find his job or an identical job
- To resign: he is then exempted from executing his notice »

It is in this legal, economic and social context that our application draws its relevance.

Competitive Analysis

Our team conducted the most exhaustive competition analysis possible to identify the points on which it was necessary to distinguish themselves.

The platforms aiming to put two partners in contact are five in number. All of them have strengths that we have been inspired by and weaknesses that Meet & Match has tried to fill.

"Adopt a CTO"
It is a platform for connecting IT developers and companies. But it is a technological tool that allows companies to find the best IT skills. The startup has a matching algorithm that takes into account a dozen criteria.

+ Professional developer: IT skills assured
- Too reductive in terms of expected skills

"Entr'UP"
Entr'Up offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to find the right partner for complementary, human-compatible skills, and strengthen their compatibility and complementarities, so that they can form a strong and sustainable team. Entr'UP provides 3 tools that validate and strengthen the compatibility and complementarity of the teams of entrepreneurs.
Other platforms have the same goals as IdeaVoice and Affeeniteam.

+ Additional skills
+ Personality compatibility
- No compatibility with the project

“Seed Networking”
SeedNetworking is organized approximately every two months in Paris. It is an evening where are invited on one side, project leaders and on the other, carriers of skills (web developers, graphic designers, salespeople ...) or investors. Initially, individual meetings take place according to the "speed dating" principle. Face-to-face meetings lasting no more than 7 minutes are linked between talent carriers and entrepreneurs.

+ Presence of investors
- Bad distribution of competences between partners: risk of conflict

Design & Development Plan

The design of the Meet & Match application has been designed to be as intuitive as possible.

As such, most of the steps are to click on the description corresponding most to the idea of the user according to the question asked. That's why there is very little text to write.

Although the algorithm connects users to their ambition and skills, we still decided to set up a profile to add professional experiences and personal information. This profile is visible only by the user and the person with whom he has been associated.

A feature allows you to download the LinkedIn profile on the Meet & Match platform to save time.

We are already considering improving our application, particularly by adding access to investors wishing to make a financial contribution without being the source of a particular idea or bringing knowledge.
Here are some images of our application, so you can get acquainted with the design.

Operation & Management Plan

Our team consists of 4 students in business school with the ambition to undertake and all with specific skills that allow the sustainability and effectiveness of our group. We took inspiration from our cohesion to develop our application.
We benefit, not being IT professionals, from the help of a developer on a regular basis.
